Keep your forklifts moving. Manage TCO with a simple PM plan.
Unplanned breakdowns, rentals, and rush repairs blow up your real Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). A right-sized PM plan keeps your forklift trucks running and costs predictable.
Why choose a Burwell MH PM plan?
- Predictable pricing: Flat $90 labor per unit (+ parts) and one $40 trip fee per PM visit. Bundle units to save time and money!
- Fewer big bills: PMs catch cheaper parts needs and fixes before they turn into four-figure repairs ($175-$350 hydraulic repair vs. $3,000+ later).
- OEM-aligned cadence: Set PMs by hours or calendar (many Class 5 IC models recommend ~every 250 hours/3 months).
- Less disruption: A typical PM takes about 1.5 – 2.5 hours — schedule during your slower windows to keep production moving.
- Certified, cross-brand techs: One qualified team that fixes it right and keeps your PMs on schedule.
What’s in a PM visit?
Each PM visit covers fluid and filter changes, lubrication and adjustments, battery and hydraulic system checks, and full safety and performance inspections to keep your forklifts running safely and efficiently.
Your PSSR can provide a comprehensive list of everything included in your PM, with about 20 or more services at each visit, depending on the model type. Here’s an overview:
- Fluid & filter service: Replace engine oil and filters; check and top off transmission, hydraulic, steering, and differential fluids; inspect and replace air and fuel filters as needed.
- Lubrication & adjustments: Grease fittings; inspect and adjust linkages, belts, chains, mast assemblies, steering, and brakes.
- Battery & electrical system checks: Test batteries, cables, and terminals (add water as needed); inspect contactors, ignition, and switches for proper operation.
- Hydraulic & mechanical inspections: Examine lift and tilt cylinders, hoses, and anchors for leaks or wear.
- Safety & operational checks: Verify operation of lights, seatbelts, fire extinguisher, and safety interlocks; inspect tires, forks, and attachments; complete an operational performance check.
Each PM ends with a full visual inspection and service report so you know your equipment is safe, compliant, and ready for the next shift.
The math at a glance:
Average PM visit: $300*
